Ego / Heart Authority comes from the Heart or Ego Centre.

It is one of the rarer Human Design Authorities.

Its intelligence is connected with willpower, desire, value and commitment.

The question is not:

What should I do?

It is closer to:

What do I actually want?

What am I genuinely willing to give my energy to?

Can I stand behind this commitment?

Ego Authority is deeply personal.

A decision can be correct because you genuinely want it, not because it makes sense to everyone else.

This is not selfishness.

It is recognising that your will cannot be promised to everything and everyone.

When you commit from obligation, guilt or the need to prove yourself, you can spend your will on things that were never truly yours.

When the desire is genuine, there can be a very different sense of strength behind it.

For some people, Ego Authority is expressed through speaking what they want.

For others, it is experienced through recognising what they are truly willing to commit to.

The exact expression depends on the mechanics of your chart.

Your Strategy still comes first.

Then your Ego / Heart Authority asks you to notice your own will.

What do you want?

What is worth committing to?

And what are you genuinely willing to stand behind?
